universities
Many universities were made during the Gupta's rule. Some universities were made only for Hindus and some for only Buddhist. The schools were primarily only for boys but teacher's daughters were aloud to attend. Hindu universities gave upper class people religious training. Students could attend classes in religion, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, and Sanskrit ( their language). The most famous university was the Buddhist school in Nalanda. This school had 8 collages and 3 libraries. It also had a hospital and monastery. Student there were taught Buddhist and Hindu philosophy. They also learned logic, grammar, and medicine. students who studied medicine learned the practices of the day. they were taught to answer questions that their patients had about physical problems. They were also trained to make cures out of things like bark, roots, and minerals.
